Saakashvili Hails Poland’s Role in Georgia’s NATO Integration
Speaking at a news conference in Warsaw after talks with Polish President Lech Kaczyński on August 2, President Saakashvili hailed Poland for helping Georgia in the process of NATO integration.
“We are grateful towards Poland for its role it had and it has in Ukraine and in entire region and for Poland’s assistance in the process of Georgia’s integration into NATO,” Saakashvili said.
“We expect Georgia to move to the next stage of integration into NATO; this is the Intensified Dialogue, which is a halfway towards full [NATO] membership. I think today it [Intensified Dialogue with NATO] is very realistic, but it needs more work from our diplomacy and from our friends,” Saakashvili said.
