PM Vows to Disarm Rebel Warlord
Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli, who is currently visiting Brussels, said on July 26 that Emzar Kvitsiani, the Kodori-based rebel warlord, will be ?disarmed and captured.?
Speaking at a news briefing held in Brussels following talks with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, Zurab Nogaideli said that ?no serious problems will take place? in Kodori Gorge, where security forces are confronting militia members.
The Secretary General reiterated NATO’s support for Georgia?s territorial integrity and Tbilisi?s plans for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
