UN Security Council to Address Georgia Request Next Week
The UN Security Council will discuss Georgia’s request to hold an emergency session of the Council over Russia’s Abkhaz and South Ossetian move next week.
“I put the [Georgia’s] letter before the Council and we will deal with it later,” Dumisani Kumalo, the president of the Security Council and South Africa’s UN envoy, told journalists on April 17. “We just had a long discussion and we agreed that we will come back to that letter next time we meet, maybe on Monday.”
