Official Denies Security Council Session Called
An emergency session of the National Security Council was not convened, the Georgian President’s spokesperson Vano Noniashvili said.
“No security council session was held and was not even planned,” Noniashvili told Civil.Ge.
Earlier on Wednesday, just shortly after the Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement saying that President Putin instructed his government to boost ties with breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the Georgian president’s press office said that a session of the National Security Council was convened by President Saakashvili.
