New Rights Undecided on Election Tactic
The opposition New Rights Party has still not decided whether to run independently or on a joint ticket with the eight-party coalition in the May 21 parliamentary elections, MP Mamuka Katsitadze of the New Rights Party said.
“No final decision has been made yet,” he said in an interview with the daily Rezonansi, published on April 2. “Dialogue [with potential opposition partners] is underway.”
Koba Davitashvili, leader of Party of People, part of the eight-party opposition coalition, hinted on March 31 that the New Rights Party would run on a joint ticket with the bloc.
April 8 is the deadline for the submission of applications for parties wishing to set up an election bloc.
MP Katsitadze said that he wanted to run as a majoritarian MP candidate in his native Ambrolauri district in the Racha-Lechkhumi region.
