Parliamentary Elections Set for May 21

President Saakashvili issued a decree setting May 21 as the date for parliamentary elections, the president’s press office reported on Friday.

It said that the date had been selected after “consultations with the opposition parties” and based on the January 5 plebiscite in which the majority of voters said they wanted parliamentary elections to be held in spring.
