Church Denies Supporting Political Parties

Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church Ilia II has said that the Church does not support any political party.

“The impression is being given in recent days that the Church supports or patronizes some political parties. This is not true. The Georgian [Orthodox] Church protects our national and Christian values and we are doing our best to unite the nation, to unite our people,” Ilia II said.
