Opposition Meets Burjanadze on Memorandum
A group of opposition politicians are meeting with Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze on February 1 to discuss the demands outlined in a joint opposition memorandum.
?We’re going to talk about these issues now and in further meetings,? ruling party lawmaker Pavle Kublashvili, who is also attending the meeting, told Mze television before the talks.
Twelve opposition parties signed a joint memorandum on January 29, in which 17 demands were made. Protest rallies, starting from February 15, have been threatened if the demands are not met.
President Saakashvili said on January 30 that some of the demands put forth by the opposition were unacceptable, while others were negotiable.
