Saakashvili Comments on Planned Public TV Reform

President-elect Mikheil Saakashvili said all political opinion would be reflected in the board of trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).

?The Public Broadcaster belongs to the entire population, it belongs both to the authorities and the opposition and non-governmental organizations as well. So it will be open to everyone. We have been working in recent days on changing the board. And it should be reconstituted in a way that gives every political force a feeling that it is represented? But this does not mean that someone will be able to restrict the freedom of journalists there,? Saakashvili told journalists after a meeting with Public Defender Sozar Subari on January 15.
