Cabinet Structural Reform Planned – PM
Georgian Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze confirmed on January 9 that, as well as a cabinet reshuffle, the structure of the cabinet would also be changed.
?At this stage, I can only say that we will have several vice-premiers, instead of the current one,? he said at a cabinet meeting on January 9. ?Consultations are currently underway so at this stage that is all I can say.?
Mikheil Saakashvili, who according to the Central Election Commission, has been re-elected with 52.21% of the vote, said on January 8 that his future cabinet would be ?much more all-inclusive? and signaled a readiness to even include political opponents.
According to the law, the entire cabinet must resign when a new president takes office. The new president must within ten days submit to Parliament for approval a new cabinet.
