Head of Orthodox Church Calls for High Voter Turnout
Illia II, the Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, has called for a high voter turnout on January 5.
“I will not tell you who to vote for… It is up to you to decide who will be good for our people and our homeland. But we all should definitely go to the polling stations,” he said in a sermon on Sunday, December 30.
Along with the presidential election, two separate plebiscites – one on the timing of the next parliamentary elections and another on NATO – will be held on January 5.
