PACE Monitoring Committee to Discuss Georgia
The Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will meet in Paris on December 18 to discuss the extent to which Georgia has honored commitments undertaken on joining the organization in 1999.
Ruling party lawmakers Elene Tevdoradze and Giga Bokeria, as well as Levan Berdzenishvili, an opposition MP from the Republican party, left for Paris on December 17 to attend the session.
?Georgia has practically fulfilled all commitments undertaken before joining the organization,? Tevdoradze said before her departure.
Matyas Eorsi and Kastriot Islami, CoE co-rapporteurs with responsibilty for monitoring Georgia, will present a report, following two fact finding visits to Tbilisi on November 9-10 and December 5-7.
