PM to Meet Investors in London
Georgia?s new Prime Minister, Lado Gurgenidze, will meet with a group of foreign investors having interests, or planning to invest in Georgia on December 3 in London.
?We will explain them the current situation in Georgia and also explain them what are the reasons behind our positive and optimistic stance about our economy,? Gurgenidze told President Saakashvili at a televised cabinet session late on November 24.
Speaking to lawmaker on November 22, shortly before his cabinet was endorsed by the parliament, Lado Gurgenidze said that foreign investment in Georgia had temporarily dried up, describing it as a ?pause? in FDI flows following the November 7 unrests in Tbilisi.
“Any type of destabilization, even an illusory one, hinders investment,? he said. ?We should make the current investment pause as short as possible with an emphasis on stability and the continuity of reforms.?
