Georgia Vows to Lift Emergency Rule ‘Soon’

State of emergency is expected to be lifted much sooner than after two weeks as envisaged by the presidential decree, Eka Sharashidze, chief of the Georgian President’s administration said on November 9.


The statement was made shortly after the parliament backed the presidential decree on the state of emergency.


“Situation has stabilized as a result of measures undertaken by the Georgian government,” she said.
