Burjanadze Calls for Calm

Parliamentary Chairperson, Nino Burjanadze, called on the population to keep calm and refrain from rallies.

?Coming out in the streets will further escalate tensions. I call on our supporters as well as opposition supporters not to come out in the streets. Clam is the most important at this moment? Stay at homes,? she told reporters.

?I am still waiting from the healthy part of our opposition to respond to my calls for a dialogue. Unfortunately there has been no response from them so far.?

Burjanadze made this statement after the riot police dispersed for second time today a protest rally on Rike in downtown Tbilisi.
