Bezhuashvili Visits Netherlands
Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili is paying a working visit to the Netherlands on October 17-18 to hold talks with his Dutch counterpart, Maxime Verhagen, and Defense Minister Eimert van Middlekoop.
The Georgian minister will also deliver a speech at the Clingendael Institute of International Relations entitled ?Europe without Dividing Lines ? Georgia?s Challenges and Opportunities,? according to the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
Bezhuashvili arrived in the Netherlands from Luxembourg, where the 8th meeting of the EU-Georgia Cooperation Council was held. The implementation of the EU-Georgia Action Plan within the European Neighborhood Policy, possible EU help in conflict resolution, migration, border control and visa issues were all on the agenda.
The plenary meeting of the Cooperation Council was preceded by a joint ministerial meeting between the EU and Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, during which the Georgian side stressed the need for stronger EU involvement in the conflict resolution processes in the South Caucasus.
