Georgia in Top 20 Business-Friendly States ? WB Report

Georgia is ranked 18th on the ease-of-doing-business index, according to a World Bank report, Doing Business 2008. It was 37th last year.

Doing Business 2008 ranks a total of 178 economies. The top 25, in order, are Singapore, New Zealand, the United States, Hong Kong (China), Denmark, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Iceland, Norway, Japan, Finland, Sweden, Thailand, Switzerland, Estonia, Georgia, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Austria.

Georgia was the top reformer last year and this year it is fifth after Egypt, Croatia, Ghana and FYR Macedonia.
