New Mayor of Batumi Elected

Batumi City Council elected Robert Chkhaidze as Mayor of the city on September 14.

Chkhaidze previously served as the vice-mayor of the Adjarian capital.   

The position became vacant on August 13 with the resignation of the former mayor, Irakli Tavartkiladze, who was later appointed as the Georgian ambassador to Greece.
