Ex-Mayor of Batumi to Become Ambassador to Greece
Irakli Tavartkiladze, the ex-mayor of Batumi in the Adjaran Autonomous Republic, was nominated as Georgian ambassador to Greece, Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili said on August 31.
?A planned rotation is being carried out in the diplomatic corps. The five-year term of service of the previous ambassador, Sandro Chumburidze, has already expired and he will continue service in the Foreign Ministry,? Bezhuashvili told Mze and Rustavi 2 television stations.
