Sokhumi Denounces NATO Information Center in Kodori
Breakaway Abkhazia denounced Tbilisi?s decision to set up a local branch office of NATO Information Center in upper Kodori Gorge, saying it was a provocative act.
?The move confirms the Georgian side?s intention to continue with its military build-up in this part of Abkhazia,? a statement by the breakaway region?s Foreign Ministry issued on August 2 reads.
The NATO Information Center’s local office was opened in upper Kodori Gorge on July 26. With headquarters in Tbilisi, the center mainly focuses on roundtable discussions on NATO and other public awareness campaigns about the alliance.
