Adjara Marks Peaceful Revolution Anniversary

President Saakashvili, Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze and other officials were in the Adjaran Autonomous Republic on May 6 to mark the third anniversary of the peaceful ouster of Adjara?s ex-leader, Aslan Abashidze.
 
Saakashvili said while meeting the staff in a newly reconstructed pharmaceutical factory in Batumi that ?non-free Adjara has turned into a free region and it is a major achievement.? 
 
He also hailed the economic development of the region and said that dozens of new enterprises had been launched in the region.
 
Saakashvili and other top level officials also attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a Sheraton hotel in Batumi.
