Sokhumi Seeks Voice at UN Security Council
Authorities in breakaway Abkhazia have renewed their calls to be allowed to voice their position at the UN Security Council session which is scheduled to discuss the situation in Abkhazia in mid-April.
?Our Russian partners also insist on Abkhazia?s participation in the UN Security Council?s session,? Sergey Shamba, Foreign Minister of the breakaway region, said on March 30, according to the Abkhaz leader?s web-site.
?In order to provide an effective dialogue, the positions of both sides of the conflict should be heard,? he added.
