Burjanadze Wants to Enhance Parliament’s Oversight Functions

Speaking at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on March 22, Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson said the country’s legislative body should increase its oversight functions over the state institutions, which are represented by the same political team.

“I want to underline that it is of crucial importance to strengthen oversight function of the Parliament, especially now when the political opposition is not strong enough and three branches of the government are run by the same members of the same political party,” she said.
