Burjanadze: Return of Russian Envoy Positive, but Not Enough
Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said on January 21 that Russia?s decision to send its Ambassador back to Tbilisi is ?a positive step,? but she also added that ?it is not enough to put Russian-Georgian relations back on a normal path.?
Russian Ambassador Vyacheslav Kovalenko plans to return to Georgia on January 22 after four months of absence.
He is expected to arrive in Tbilisi from Moscow via the Armenian capital Yerevan, as Russia has not yet resumed direct flights between Moscow and Tbilisi.
