Economy Minister Quits Ruling Party Post

Economy Minister Giorgi Arveladze said on December 29 that he has resigned from the position of secretary general of the ruling National Movement party.

Arveladze said that the decision was motivated by his appointment as Economy Minister.

MP Davit Kirkitadze, who was the ruling party?s previous executive secretary, has become the acting secretary general.
