Non-Partisan MP Joins Opposition Faction
Non-partisan opposition lawmaker Koka Guntsadze has joined the parliamentary faction United Democrats, which mainly unites MPs from the opposition Republican and Conservative parties.
?This is part of the process that aims to enhance coordination between the opposition forces, and this process will further deepen in 2007,? MP Kakha Kukava of the Conservative Party told Mze TV on December 29.
MP Guntsadze was one of the key figures in the opposition New Rights party, but he quit the party after it boycotted the October 5 local self-governance elections. MP Guntsadze described the boycott of the elections as a mistake.
