Russia Launches Pullout of Troop Headquarters in Tbilisi

On November 23 Russia pulled out 23 units of military hardware from Tbilisi as part of withdrawal of the Headquarters of the Group of Russian Troops in Trans Caucasus (GRVZ) ahead of schedule.


According to the Russian-Georgian agreement, the Group of Russian Troops in Tran Caucasus were set to leave Georgian territory in the course of 2008.


The Georgian Defense Ministry said next stage of pullout will take place on December 1. A total of 387 servicemen and 100 units of military hardware and equipment belonging to the GRVZ will be pulled out by the end of 2006.
