Kokoity: ‘Caucasian Laws’ Superior to Western Democracy
South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity said while addressing MPs of Russia’s Kabardino-Balkaria province on October 31 that the South Ossetian and Abkhaz conflicts are not inter-ethnic ones, Interfax news agency reported.
“This is a mistaken interpretation of the conflict. In fact, the conflict is clearly politico-legal – Georgia would like to impose the norms of Western democracy [on us], while these can never be above our Caucasian [traditional] laws,” Kokoity said.
