Two Opposition Parties Call for Dialogue with Saakashvili
Lawmakers from the Democratic Front parliamentary faction, uniting the MPs from the opposition Republican and Conservative parties, said on July 20 that they are ready for a dialogue with President Saakashvili and Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze, as well as with Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili to help defuse political confrontation between the opposition and authorities.
But they also said that they will not agree on a dialogue with MP Giga Bokeria and MP Maia Nadiradze. Bokeria is an influential parliamentarian and a close ally of President Saakashvili. MP Nadiradze is the leader of the parliamentary majority.
?Nadiradze and Bokeria have not even a slight support among the Georgian society,? MP Koba Davitashvili, leader of the Conservative Party, said on July 20.
