Russia Withdraws Artillery, Anti-Aircraft Missile Systems
Trainload of two anti-aircraft missile systems, two self-propelled artillery systems, machine guns with ammunition and twelve vehicles belonging to the Russian military base in Akhalkalaki departed from Tsalka to Russia via Azerbaijan on July 18, the Georgian Ministry of Defense reported.
The next train loaded with Russian military equipment is scheduled to leave Georgia next week.
According to the Russo-Georgian agreement on the pullout of the bases, the Akhalkalaki military base should be completely vacated before December 31, 2007.
