Bagapsh Condemns Georgian MPs Decision on Peacekeepers
Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh has condemned the Georgian Parliament?s July 18 resolution demanding Russian peacekeepers? withdrawal from the conflict zones as ?the most destructive political decision since deployment of the peacekeeping troops,? Apsnipress reported on July 18 quoting Kristian Bzhania, a spokesman of the breakaway region?s government.
?The issue needs bilateral discussions, as decision on deployment of the peacekeeping troops was taken jointly by the both parties involved [in the conflict] and represents a basic part of the agreement on which entire negotiating process is built,? Bzhania said.
He also said that Georgia should bear entire responsibility for possible deterioration of situation in the conflict zone.
