South Ossetian Leader Comments on Peacekeepers
South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity said that the Russian peacekeeping forces will stay in the South Ossetian conflict zone until final resolution of this conflict, despite the Georgian Parliament?s July 18 resolution instructing the government to pull out Russian troops from both Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
?We will spare no efforts to hold the JCC [Joint Control Commission] session. The OSCE and the international community should make relevant conclusions, as no doubt that the Georgian leadership plans to impose on us a forceful scenario of conflict resolution,? Kokoity said on July 18, according to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee.
