Abkhaz Reports: Moscow Mayor to Visit Sokhumi

Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov will visit breakaway Abkhazia this week, the Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported on July 17.

?Further development of economic and cultural relations will be discussed during the Luzhkov?s visit,? Kristian Bzhania, a spokesman of the Abkhaz government, said.

He also noted that there are already several ventures operating in Abkhazia, which are run jointly by the Abkhaz and Moscow-based companies.

Bzhania said that Moscow municipality is providing an important assistance to Abkhazia in the fields of transportation and education.
