Georgian MPs Say Russia Wants Tensions in S.Ossetia
Officials in Tbilisi said on July 13 in a response to the Russian authorities? recent allegations about Tbilisi?s intention to stage provocations in breakaway South Ossetia, that the Georgian side is not interested in stirring tensions in the conflict zone.
?All these recent statements made by the Russian officials recently indicate that we should expect a provocation from the Russian side in South Ossetia, especially against the background of the Georgian President?s recent visit to the United States,? Giga Bokeria, an influential parliamentarian from the ruling National Movement party, told reporters.
MP Givi Targamadze, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security, warned on July 13 that Georgia will undertake relevant measures in case of provocations.
