Bush Meets Saakashvili
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush on July 5 in Washington.
Developments in consolidating Georgia’s democratic transition, cooperation in energy security and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and common commitment to working together to advance freedom and security around the world were on the agenda of the talks, according to the White House.
At a news conference after the talks the U.S. President hailed Georgia?s drive to achieve economic growth through reforms and welcomed the Georgian authorities? efforts to eradicate corruption. He said Georgia is a friend of the United States and the both countries share same values.
