Journalist Protest Rally Attacked in Eastern Georgia

A group of local journalists and human rights activists, who were rallying in support of strong local-self governance in the Signagi district of eastern Georgian region of Kakheti, were attacked and dispersed on June 15.

The protesters said that some local officials were among the attackers, who beat-up several journalists.
