EC Delegation to Visit Georgia
A European Commission delegation, led by Nicolas Verlet, Head of the Unit ? Neighbourhood Policy and European Free Trade Area (EFTA), will pay a visit to Georgia on June 13-15, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.
The aim of the planned consultations is to hold talks over concluding a bilateral agreement on trade in wines and spirits between Georgia and the European Union.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, this agreement will regulate mutual recognition and protection of geographical indications and names of origin of wine products, which will minimize cases of falsification of Georgian wine on the European market.
