Russian Journalist Denied Entry into Georgia

Vadim Fefilov, a journalist of the Russian NTV television, was deported to Moscow on May 25 after the Georgian side refused to grant him entry visa at the Tbilisi airport. Officials in Tbilisi have not yet commented on reasons behind the decision.

Several other journalists, who accompanied Fefilov, could receive visas.

A team of reporters from the NTV television arrived in Georgia to cover celebrations marking Georgia’s Independence Day on May 26.
 
Head of the NTV Tbilisi Office Nugzar Kereselidze described the incident with Russian reporters as violation of a journalist’s rights.
