Police Disperse Protesters

Overnight on May 24 the Patrol Police dispersed a small group of protesters outside the Parliament, who were demanding a fair investigation into the Sandro Girgvliani murder case.

Police arrested two protesters. Court released them, but fined with GEL 7.5 for hooliganism.

Several activists from the Equality Institute non-governmental organization went on hunger strike and staged a protest rally on the roadway on central Rustaveli Avenue, partially blocking the road on May 23.
