China Writes off Most of Georgia’s Debt

Georgia will repay only USD 400,000 of its USD 3 million debt to China, and the remainder will be considered a grant, the Georgian President’s press office reported on April 12.

The agreement was reached during the talks between visiting Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao on April 11.
