Saakashvili Visits China
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili left for China on a six-day state visit on April 10 to discuss bilateral cooperation issues. The visit is being held at the invitation of President Hu Jintao.
Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Valeri Chechelashvili, who also accompanies the President, said before departing that Georgia has serious economic interests in China. Reportedly, the possibility of Georgian wine exports to China will also be discussed.
On April 12 President Saakashvili will participate in the Georgian-Chinese economic forum.
Speaking with the Chinese reporters ahead of his official visit to China President Saakashvili said that Georgia will seek Chinese investments in the ongoing process of privatization in Georgia.
