Interior Minister: I will not Resign

Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said on April 7 that he will not resign, despite opposition parties’ demands.

Merabishvili, speaking with Rustavi 2 television, was commenting on an ultimatum issued by opposition lawmakers demanding that he resign and threatening to boycott parliamentary sessions if he did not.

“The opposition has the right to put forth certain demands, but I am going to continue the fight against organized crime,” Merabishvili.
