UN Security Council to Discuss Abkhazia

The UN Security Council will discuss the situation in Georgia’s breakaway region in Abkhazia and adopt a resolution at a session on March 31, according to the UN press service.

The Security Council will discuss report by the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in which he calls for the mandate of UN Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) to be extended for six months, until 30 September, 2006.
