State of Emergency Canceled in Adjara

Parliament approved the President’s decree on March 16 on lifting the state of emergency in Khelvachauri district of Adjara Autonomous Republic, which was imposed on February 28 to prevent spread of bird flu.

State of emergency was initially imposed for seven months, but authorities announced that the there was no need in state of emergency any more as the government could contain spread of the virus.
