Georgian MPs Left for Belarus to Monitor Polls
A group of eight Georgian parliamentarians left for Belarus on March 16 to monitor presidential elections scheduled there for March 19.
MP Davit Kirkitadze, deputy chairman of the parliamentary majority, said before departure that the group will be part of the OSCE election observation mission.
Influential parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party Giga Bokeria and Givi Targamadze also planned to visit Belarus, but reportedly both of them were refused by the Belarus authorities to monitor elections.
