Russian MPs Meet S.Ossetian Leader, Chief Peacekeeper

A group of Russian MPs met with South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity and Commander of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces Maj. Gen. Marat Kulakhmetov in Tskhinvali on February 15 to discuss the current situation in the conflict zone.
 
“The key task of the South Ossetian leadership is to maintain peace in the Caucasus,” the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee quoted the South Ossetian leader as saying.  

The Russian parliamentarians traveled to South Ossetia after holding talks with their Georgian counterparts in Tbilisi on February 14.
