MFA: Georgia to Deport Detained Russian Military Officers
Procedures are underway to deport three Russian military officers who were detained by the Georgian Military Police in the South Ossetian conflict zone on February 8 from Georgia, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Georgia reported on February 9.
“[The detained Russian servicemen] had no Georgian entry visas; moreover, they even had no passports as well. The competent authorities are conducting an inquiry into this incident. Respective procedures have been set up for the deportation of these Russian officers from the territory of Georgia,” an information note issued by the Georgian Foreign Ministry reads.
