Saakashvili Halts Visit to Davos, Amid Worsened Energy Crisis

President Saakashvili has cut his visit to Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum short, following a worsened energy crisis in Georgia, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said at a news conference on January 26.


?Despite the fact that President Saakashvili planned to hold very important meetings [in Davos], including about the Georgian energy crisis, he decided to return and he will be back in Tbilisi by this evening [on January 26],? Nogaideli said.


President Saakashvili, who was accompanied by State Minister for Economic Reforms Kakha Bendukidze, left for Davos on January 25.
