24 Customs Officers Arrested

Georgian police arrested on Thursday 24 customs officers at the Sarpi border checkpoint, in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
 
The customs officers are suspected of misuse of power and violation of customs procedures. According to Georgian media reports, customs officers allowed a bus loaded with allegedly smuggled goods to pass the checkpoint without undergoing customs clearance.
