Dozens of Chechen Refugees Repatriated
About 140 Chechen refugees residing in the Pankisi gorge of eastern Georgia since 1999 left the country and returned back to Chechnya on December 6.
This return of Chechen refugees was organized by the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, which pledged that those refugees who are homeless will be provided with temporary residence and compensation.
This return of Chechen refugees is part of the official process of repatriation, which was launched in May, with the return of 19 refugees.
